Afghanistan peace: Will women have a say?

The United States-Taliban peace talks have sparked fears that when the Taliban join a new political order, Afghan women, who suffered terrible atrocities and oppression under the Taliban rule in the 1990s, will suffer again. But it is both possible and necessary to negotiate peace with the Taliban while ensuring that women’s rights are secured. Masuda Sultan came to believe this after meeting with the Taliban in Doha last month.
