Tim Glawion is co-Editor in Chief of Africa Spectrum and a research fellow at the German Institute for Global and Area Studies in Hamburg, Germany. He is the author of The Security Arena in Africa: Local Order-Making in the Central African Republic, Somaliland and South Sudan (Cambridge University Press 2020) and numerous articles on local security. His current research focuses on security paradoxes and the monopoly on the use of force in Lebanon and the Central African Republic.
