Israeli airstrikes and ground operations continue, despite a high rate of civilian death in the territory and increasing international pressure to implement a ceasefire. The post-war reality, both in Gaza and the wider region, is unknown, and there is an urgent need to restart the peace process to find a long-term solution that will end the cycle of violence and ensure that a war like this does not happen again.
